Liberty Bagels

On my recent trip to New York, I was on a mission to find the best bagel spot in town. That’s when I stumbled upon Liberty Bagels, famous for its iconic rainbow bagel and super fluffy cream cheese, which you’d almost mistake for gelato if you didn’t know this was a bagel shop. As I approached the store, I saw a long line snaking down the sidewalk. At that moment, I knew this had to be the bagel place in town.

The staff worked fast and efficiently, and before I knew it, I was inside. Hanging on the wall was a giant rainbow bagel—impossible to miss! The shop had a wide range of flavors, from garlic and jalapeño cheddar to blueberry and, of course, rainbow. They even had pizza bagels! But what caught my eye the most was the French toast bagel, so I ordered it with strawberry cream cheese.

When it arrived, the bagel was perfectly golden, soft on the inside, and dusted with powdered sugar. The tangy richness of the strawberry cream cheese was the perfect match for the cinnamony flavor of the bagel. It was a sweet, satisfying combo.

But bagels weren’t the only thing on the menu. Muffins, fruit salad, blueberry parfaits, and fresh orange juice lined the shelves, making it clear this place was more than just a bagel shop. They even had gluten-free options, so everyone could enjoy it.

How does the bagel look? Is it evenly baked? Golden brown? Does it have toppings?

Does it smell freshly baked? Any distinct smells from toppings?

Is the exterior crispy, chewy, or tough? Is the interior soft and dense? Or airy and light? Is the bagel doughy or well cooked?

Salty or sweet? Are the toppings yummy? Any overpowering tastes?

Was it paired with cream cheese? Butter? Jam?

Where did you get it? Was it toasted? How was the service?
